*In 2021, the World Health Organization (WHO) revised monoclonal antibody naming conventions, retiring the traditional “-mab” suffix. It was replaced with more descriptive stems such as:

❖ “-mig” for multispecific antibodies
❖ “-ment” for antibody fragments lacking an Fc region
This change does not apply retroactively—existing “-mab” antibodies retain their original names.
